Chardonnay 2006
ADELAIDE HILLS
2006 was an excellent vintatge for Adelaide Hills Chardonnay.
40% of this 2006 Chardonnay has been frermented and matured in French oak barriques. Partial malo-lactic fermentation and regular batonage (lees stirring), has enhanced the texture and complexity of the wine. The balance has been fermented in stainless steel, capturing the brightness and freshness of cooler climate fruit.
The aroma is at the lemon end of the flavour spectrum, hinting at nectarine and cashew. There is an intriquing mineral and pebble finish. Will age gracefully.
IIdeal with seafood, cream based pasta or chicken dishes and richly flavoured risottos.
